Research Interests  

Multilingualism, Sociolinguistics, Sociophonetics, Endangered languages, Language contact, Discourse analysis, Phonetics, Phonology

Attended the89th Orientation Course at the Academic Staff College, JNUNew Delhi 2014 from 10th of February 2014 to 6th of March 2014.


Resource Person  

Attended a workshop held at KMI Institute of Hindi and Linguistics at the Amedkar University, Agra on Workshop on Language Description and Sciences 1 from 8-9 August 2014 as a primary resource person.


Teaching Experience  

1. Taught Introduction to Language and Linguistics and Multilingualism and Multiculturalism in India to M.A. students from 11.06.2013.

2.Taught ‘Introduction to Morphology’ to the under graduate students of SLL&CS, JNU, New Delhi for two semesters (winter semester 2010 and 2011).
Administrative Experience  
  1. Worked as the acting coordinator, Centre for Tribal Folklore, Language and Literature, Central University of Jharkhand, Brambe Ranchi.
  2. Worked as a member of seminar committee and book exhibition committee during Akhra Tribal India Festival from 28/10/2013 to 30/10/2013.
  3.  Worked as a member of syllabus review committee constituted for the center of indigenous culture studies at the Central University of Jharkhand.
  4. Nominated by the Central University of Jharkhand for Making a Presentation at the UGC Hqs, New Delhi for the establishment of Centre for Endangered Languages on the 19th January, 2014.
  5. Elected as the Election Commissioner in Kaveri hostel, J.N.U in 2008- 2009 and 2010.
  6. Elected as Member of the executive committee of JNUDPA for the period of 2008-2010.
  7. Elected as the Documentation officer of JNUDPA for the period of 2010-2012.
  8. Member, Centre level purchase committee for the procurement of equipmentmeant for language documentation.

  • Got best participant’s award in state level debate competition organized by Hindustan times in 2001 at Youth Club Patna.
  • Special achievement award given by NGO Ideal Eyes in Patna.
  • Got 10th rank in CSR Essay competition twice.
  • Awarded by Patna book fair in 2003 for academic activities.
  • Elected as the Chief Election Commissioner in Kaveri hostel, J.N.U  in 2008- 2009 and 2010.
  • Elected as Member of the executive committee of JNUDPA for the period of 2008-2010.
  • Elected as the Documentation officer of JNUDPA for the period of 2010-2012.
  • Nomited as Student representative from JNU to participate in International Convention on Disability to be held in Feb, 2013.

  1. Organized and helped in writing the report of ‘JNU Langscape’ the linguistic survey of Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi on multilingualism conducted jointly by the Center for linguistics, JNU and National Translation Mission in JNU held from 15th to 30th of Sepetember 2011.
  2. Attended Documentation and Archival Training workshop organized under the auspices of DoBeS , Germany (www.mpi.nl/dobes) in Guwahati Assam.
  3. Attended the national workshop on ‘Pronunciation Lexicon Standards for Indic Languages’ jointly organized under the auspices of Center for Linguistics, JNU, DIT GOI and IIT Kharagpur held at the Center for Linguistics, SLL&CS, JNU New Delhi on 4th – 5th May, 2011.
